You know, I have never understood that saying, "The best laid plans of mice and men..." I don't know why, but I have never quite gotten it. Maybe if I did a search for it, I could find the meaning. However, I think I partially understand it this evening.
In an earlier post, I mentioned that we got a new puppy. Boy, I'm wondering how smart I am right at the moment. Not to mention why I'm trying to type this on a laptop when I'm used to an ergonomic keyboard. Anyway, I am NOT a morning person. Never have been, probably never will be. So let me tell you how harsh it is for me to go to bed at 1 in the morning (normal time for me) and then have to get up at 6:30. Icky! So, I've been wiped out all day long. After dinner, I crashed for what was supposed to be a short nap. Well, I ended up waking up at midnight. Dang it! Talk about stupid!
Did you know that I'm supposed to finish up with school today? That's Tuesday in case you're curious. I was actually hoping to finish up this past weekend. Didn't happen. Okay, tried to finish up Sunday, didn't happen. I wanted to finish up on Monday night, didn't happen. Are you seeing a trend here? Unfortunately I am! So, I sat down to do as much work tonight as possible. I managed to finish up ONE report before the puppy woke up and started screeching and my 3 year old woke up and started crying. Why does he always want more milk and kick off his covers at 2 in the morning? Just curious. So, I'm now UP with the puppy and wishing that this laptop was more powerful and could handle my work.
I had a choice of a puppy or a new laptop. Hmm... Maybe I made the wrong choice? Well, it is fun to watch Rascal play though. Dory put him in his place tonight. He wasn't thrilled about that, though. She nailed him pretty good. But he has not seriously "attacked" her since, so I guess it worked. We had to let it happen or Rascal would never learn. She didn't really hurt him, so it's okay.
Well, tomorrow is going to be "fascinating." I'm going to have to do my work no matter what. I'll take care of the kids as much as possible and then go work. I hope they'll be good. Knowing them, and how important it is for me to finish up, they'll be running up and down the hall, yelling at each other, make the dogs bark, etc. See a trend? They'll go completely bonkers on me. I just hope I can keep my cool. Not to mention have enough energy to do what I need to do and get it finished.
