Sickness Reigns!

Well, our house has been seriously attacked by really nasty bugs. I have been incredibly sick as has my youngest son. I went to the doctor on Friday when I realized I couldn't breathe very well on Thursday night. Turns out I have bronchitis and I think a touch of the flu. My skin has been incredibly "touchy" lately. My youngest seems to have a cold that has settled into his voicebox. He can't hit his high pitched shrieks, though he tries. He also almost whispers more than cries. It's kind of sad. I will probably try to get him to the doctor this afternoon.

My son started his quilt block the other day. We went as far as I could before I had to call it quits. He was upset when we had to finish up for the day. But I was really sick and could hardly stand anymore. We're working on keeping his seams as straight as possible, and I did teach him how to use the iron. Well, sort of. I taught him to finger press the seams open and then use the iron so that his fingers would always be out of the way. If the particular string he chose was too small, I would press it for him. My new iron gets really darn hot, and I don't want him burning his fingers on it. His seams aren't perfect, of course, but since we're doing a string block, it's not that big of a deal. It's a very forgiving block. *smile*

If and when I'm feeling better, I'm sure he'll be more than willing to work on it some more. I hope we'll eventually have a finished quilt block from him.
