Quilting stuff, I guess

Wow! I'm a terrible blogger. Oh, well. What do you expect? I do have several young children, homeschool one, and now I'm even working part time. I'm a busy woman!

Anyway, what's going on here? I got my lovely Singer 301A up and running recently. She sews like a dream and she's my new favorite machine.

My Viking Quilt Designer has a nasty squeak in it that was there from the last time it was "repaired." The repair shop won't take it back and fix it unless I pay for it again. Right then. I was thinking that a new Janome might be a nice machine to have... *grin*

Since the said QD is squeaking really badly, I'm not really quilting anything anymore. That is really too bad since I'd joined up with the 3 UFO challenge on the About.com quilting forum. I was doing really well, too! I had one finished and was busily working on another. Though it was a sneak in. It's a stained glass butterfly quilt and the bias was escaping. Only that squeak has REALLY gotten to me. I don't know if I could sit there and listen to it much longer without going insane. Maybe I'll just have to decide how important my quilts are to me to finish.

While I'm contemplating whether or not I want to face my squeaking machine, I'm just happily piecing away on my 301A. I recently found all the pieces to my brother's Irish Plaid quilt. I only had the border finished and was just starting work on the rest of it. 120 patterns to make up a 30 block quilt. I was insane to tackle a paper piecing project that large. Oh, well. I'm sure it will look terrific when I'm finished with it. It's actually been exactly what I've needed to work on lately too. Just brainless piecing. *grin*

Well, I need to get to work on a challenge block for a group I'm in, so I'd better get going!
